If you are moving a page, or perhaps deleting a page, some of your users might still accidentally click an old link. Using this tool, you can set up a redirect.

This means when a user visits the ‘old link’ instead of getting a broken 404 page, they will get sent where you want them to go.

301 redirect options

Step 1: Add the new redirect

Give the redirect a name, make this as detailed as possible so it is easy to idenfity it in the future.

Step 2: Find the old URL

This is the page that you have maybe deleted or moved. Add this to the second field on this page.

Step 3: Paste the updated URL

Then paste in the URL you want people to go to if they are using the 'old' link somewhere. This could be just your homepage, or you could create a custom 404 page.

Any visitor to that 'old' link will now be redirected to your updated URL.
